Stop the Traffick

Three more sleeps….:)

August3

So Natalie, our team leader, told us that instead of talking about how many “days” until departure, she uses the time-unit “sleeps”…that way there isn’t any confusion on how many full days/partial days until we leave…

Three more sleeps…THAT IS CRAZY! How is it here already!?

THAILAND HERE WE COME!

We’ve exceeded our goal!

August2

That’s right…you heard it right here…we exceeded our fundraising goal! WOOHOO!

Thanks to all of you who supported us financially and who stood beside us in prayer, believing that the finances would come in.  We are so excited that we now have the opportunity to bless the Tamar Center (in one way or another) with these extra finances!

May the Lord bless you for your willingness to give and support! You all ROCK! :)

TEN DAYS TO THAILAND!

July27

Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost here!  Just seems like yesterday that we were at Matt & Natalie’s hearing about the Tamar Center and deciding whether or not we were going to join the team..

Some of you may be asking…what are you doing again? Well, here’s the scoop…

Eleven lovely ladies will be traveling to Thailand to work with the Tamar Center in Pattaya.  The vision of the Tamar Center is to work with local churches to show the love and compassion of Jesus by bringing help and healing to the estimated 20,000 girls and women in Pattaya involved in prostitution (for more info, check out their website http://www.ywamthai.org/pattaya/tamar.html).

20, 000 women! I can’t even imagine that!  Wow…  During the past couple of weeks, I’ve been doing a little informal research about Pattaya and my heart is breaking for this city and this country.  Everywhere I’ve turned, I’ve seen ads for Go-Go-Girls or Thai Ladies or anything of the like…  a dark place in need of Light.

We’ll write more about our possible outreach opportunities later…

Who’s on the team?

Natalie Thomas (team leader), Shannon Graybill (team leader), Marisa Barnett, Brenda Boll, Tonya Dow, Tina Emery, Elizabeth Harper, Serena Harper, Sammi Jones, Nicole Mathewson and Alissa Smith.  You’ll hear more about us and from us later….

Signing off for today…
